Digging Deeper: Understanding Parental Concerns and Framing the Challenge

This week, our focus was on narrowing down the needs of the parents as we continued to refine our project direction. We began by aiming to define a clear "how might we" question that would guide our solution. This question is crucial because it frames our challenge in a way that inspires creative thinking while staying grounded in real needs.
To help us get there, we conducted additional interviews with psychologists and parents to better understand the nuances of children's free time when they are alone at home. These interviews were insightful, shedding light on parents' specific concerns regarding their children's independence and the balance between keeping them safe and empowering them.
We learned that there is a strong emotional component for parents, who want to provide their children with both structure and freedom without feeling like they are micromanaging or leaving them unprotected.
These insights have helped us to refine our understanding of the challenges involved and move closer to framing our "how might we" question in a way that will lead to a meaningful and impactful solution.
During this week we worked on our presentation for next week, summarizing our process so far and what led us to the important "How Might We" question.
