Shaping the Experience: Fine-Tuning Structure and Interaction
Over the past two weeks, we continued collaborating with Aviad to refine the physical design of our lamp. Our main goal was to make the model thinner so the lights could shine more clearly and effectively.
We redesigned the internal structure of the lamp to better fit the technology and the engine, ensuring that everything could be held together securely. This included creating precise placements for the LEDs so they would sit properly within the model and distribute light as intended.
In parallel, we also printed additional buttons representing different hobbies, a key part of the interaction, allowing children to connect the lamp to their chosen activity.
Looking ahead, our next step is to work on integrating touch technology into the model. We want the lamp to light up intuitively when a child presses the button, especially during nighttime use. We’re also aiming to make the button press and engine movement more responsive and visible, so the action of turning on the lamp feels satisfying and clear.
This phase brings us closer to a more polished and functional version of the product, one that feels intuitive, engaging, and magical from a child’s perspective.
